In Memory of TPC Board Member Llyn Smith

It is with great sorrow that we announce Tustin Preservation Conservancy Board Member and Treasurer, Llyn Eleanor Smith, 69, of Tustin, California passed away on December 10, 2018 at Chapman Medical Center in Orange following complications from surgery.
Llyn was born on September 28, 1949 and was the adopted daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald R. Smith (deceased) of San Francisco. Llyn attended public schools in San Francisco and in High School spent a year abroad in Switzerland which initiated her interest in travel. She attended UC Irvine and following her graduation joined the staff at UCI where she worked in a variety of different areas and departments. For the last fifteen years of her career, she worked for the Student Center & Event Services where she became the Sr. Financial Analyst. Llyn retired from UC Irvine in June 2015 after 40 years of hard work and service. Her collegues remember her as a great source of knowledge and history of the campus who loved sharing stories.
Llyn also loved Tustin where she was an active member of the community. She moved here in 1993 when she purchased a small Queen Anne cottage on the corner of Pacific and 3rd which she proudly displayed for several Home & Garden tours over the years. She was a founding member of the Tustin Preservation Conservancy in 2004 where she was an advocate for the historic architectural assets of the city that were in danger of being lost to time and new developments. In 2017 Llyn was recognized as a Tustin Superhero by the Tustin Community Foundation for her years of dedication to Old Town and her meticulous work as Treasurer for the Preservation Conservancy.
Llyn is survived by her partner, Judy Clevenger,  her brother Glenn Smith of St. Helena, CA,  five nieces and eleven grand nieces and nephews. Her remains have been placed in Mill Valley, CA where she played as a child.
